Most Ball State graduate nursing students live and train in Indiana, and each corner of the state finds preceptors differently. IU Health matches advanced practice students through its own database, Community Health Network runs fixed application windows, Beacon Health System in the north asks students not to contact its clinicians directly, and Evansville sits roughly 225 miles from Muncie. East Central Indiana, around campus, is the natural first read; after that, pick the district where you live.

Questions Ball State students ask
Does my clinical site need to be near Muncie?
No. Ball State's program pages describe finding preceptors in your own community, and the graduate programs are online, so Indiana students usually train near home. The trip to Muncie is for the 8-hour campus day in NUR 681.
Can I train at IU Health as a Ball State student?
IU Health's own pages say only students whose primary residence and nursing license are in Indiana are eligible, that advanced practice students apply through its Office of Clinical Education, and that students may not contact its providers directly to arrange a preceptor.
Are rural Indiana counties covered?
Yes. Every guide covers its rural counties, their HRSA shortage designations and the smaller hospitals and community health centers where FNP students often find primary care preceptors.
